Thanks to our Veterans
A special thank you for serving our nation in time of peace and war. We take so much of our freedoms for granted. Yet, its men and women like you that serve at the point of the spear to keep our nation strong. The Management Team and all supporting staff salute you for your commitment to answer the call when your country needed you most.

History of Veteran's Day
Recognition for our veterans began with Armistice Day which was intended to honor veterans of WW I. However, it would only be a few short years till the War to end all Wars was overshadowed by the largest mobilization in our nation's history. WW II saw over 16M men and women rally to the slogan "Uncle Sam Needs You." WW II was followed by a police action which had all of the same hardships as experienced in WW I. This would be the Korean War. It was in 1954 that the US Congress changed the name of Armistice's Day to Veteran's Day. From this point forward, November 11th became the day to honor American Veterans from all wars.
Richard Arvine Overton is believed to be the oldest living veteran. He was born May 11, 1906 in Bastrop County TX. This would make him 107 years young. He served in the Army during WW II and lost a brother in Vietnam about 43 years ago. Recently he was interviewed and said that he could still do almost anything and did not take any medicine. Mr. Overton is the "Iron Man of all Veterans" and may he live many more years.
In 2011, there were 21.5 million veterans in the US. 1.6 M were women and 9.2 M were over 65 years of age. So to each of you that have faithfully served your country in time of peace and war, a special thank you from all of us for helping to preserve the freedom that we enjoy in our great country.
